Ways to participate and learn more

January is Birth Defects Awarness Month

January is Birth Defects Prevention Month- an important reminder for family physicians to continue advocating for early intervention and prevention.

One key area of focus is Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), which is entirely preventable when no alcohol is consumed during pregnancy. As trusted healthcare providers, we can help raise awareness, educate expecting mothers, and promote healthy habits that protect both mothers and babies. Let’s work together to reduce the incidence of FASD and other birth defects through prevention, screenings, and support.

Check out and rsvp for an upcoming video series watch party featuring the new video series about living experiences of FASD. This event will take place virtually on Wednesday, January 15th, 2025 at 6:00 - 7:30pm ET. This event is open and free to all who may be interested.
