Continuing Medical Education
In 2018, the MDAFP Board of Directors removed the MDAFP member CME requirement that 5 credits must be Maryland state specific. The Board concluded that this was an unnecessary burden to our members. As a condition of continued membership in the MDAFP and AAFP, active members are required to report at least 150 credits of approved CME every three calendar years in order to be eligible for re-election. The 150 credits must include at least 75 AAFP Prescribed credits and 25 credits from live activities. Active members must earn and report the required CME credits within their re-election cycle and the CME credits must be reported in the year in which they were earned.
For more information on types of CME Credit, please refer to the Types of CME Credit page on the AAFP website, or call the AAFP Member Resource Center at (800) 274-2237.
The AAFP offers a variety of CME services including:
- Online CME courses
- Live events across the country
- CME reporting tool
- Procedure tracker
- Requirements planner
