Commissions: Purpose, Structure and Scope

MDAFP Board Committees:

Nominating Committee

Led by the immediate past president, the nominating committee recruits new leadership to the Board and committees and drafts a slate for officers. This committee meets at least annually.

Finance Committee
Led by the treasurer, the finance committee reviews financial statements, reviews the annual budget that is prepared by the executive director, addresses the financial goals of MDAFP, and makes recommendations regarding existing and new revenue streams. This committee meets at least quarterly.

Bylaws Committee
Led by the president-elect, the bylaws committee reviews and updates existing bylaws, and drafts new bylaws for Board consideration in order to reflect the organization’s goals. This committee meets at least annually.
Education Committee
Oversees MDAFP Annual Meeting & Summer Summit educational programming including topics and tracks and KSA sessions. MD’s regulatory requirements are monitored and taken into consideration in program development. Determines needs and identifies topics for additional programming and acts as the clearing house for educational program proposals. Also has oversight responsibilities for the process for obtaining AAFP CME credit and assigning a designated CME physician reviewer.


MDAFP Executive Committee (Officers and Staff) Regular Duties:

Operations: The executive committee works with staff to ensure smooth and sustainable infrastructure operations to meet MDAFP goals.

E-Bulletin and Special Communications: The executive committee works with staff to ensure timely and informative e-bulletins and special ad hoc communications to members as needed.

Awards and Recognition: The executive committee works with staff to identify opportunities to recognize and award individuals, on an ad hoc basis.
